Thanksgiving Break/Makeup Week

Did you miss private lessons earlier in the semester that you still need to make up? Talk to your teacher about scheduling makeup lessons during Thanksgiving Break! We use this week to celebrate the holiday, but also to make sure that we’re all caught up before moving forward with the school year. Also, there are no group classes during this time.

Renovation Relocation Play In!

Due to ongoing renovations being done at Suzuki, we will be relocating group classes to the Crosstown Parkway Apartments for a PLAY IN!

What is a play in?

A play in is an informal group performance or a public group lesson. We will play through our songs, play games, and do other normal group class activities, but this time we’ll have an audience. This is a low pressure performance where we are simply having fun and getting some practice playing in front of an audience.

ALL Saturday morning group classes (Little Stars included) will be meeting at Crosstown Parkway Apartments at 10:30 am.

Visiting Artist: Jordan Hamilton

  • The Suzuki Academy of Kalamazoo (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

This upcoming Saturday, the Suzuki Academy violin group classes will be hosting visiting artist Jordan Hamilton!

Who is Jordan Hamilton?

An accomplished cellist in the classical world, local artist Jordan Hamilton is making a name for himself writing and performing his own music. Finding innovative ways to use his cello, Jordan’s music combines different genres, including folk, jazz, and hip hop. Check out his music video for "Better Days" here: https://bit.ly/2NdXXFa

Jordan will be demonstrating to our classes what techniques he's been using with his cello, discussing his music with us, as well as perform for us AND with us. Exciting stuff!

Little Stars/Lil Bean and the 10 am class will still take place at Suzuki at the normal time on this day, but all other violin groups need to arrive by 10:30 am to participate.
