Our guitar program consists of one lesson weekly, with measured goals set at the end of each session to encourage daily exploration of music on the instrument at home. Parents are welcome to attend lessons in order to guide their children's process of discovery. Almost any age is a good time to start learning the guitar! For students who have previous experience on the instrument, the first lesson includes an assessment of skill and a short discussion about the interests, ambitions, and goals of the student to launch their musical journey. Since the guitar can play so many different roles in music, emphasis during sessions is placed on the student's interests, while also developing a solid foundation of rhythm, harmony and chord voicing.
